Three Months from Today
Apparently no one is really blogging these days. Facebook is the thing. I guess I need to get a Facebook account for the sake of the Reunion. August 26th is three months from today. I have heard so little from folks that I keep wondering if this is really going to happen. Then I remind myself that we have about $7000.00 dollars invested so far, so I guess it is true. I am facing the end of another school year with some level of exhaustion. I think of things that could be planned for the gathering at Twin Rocks to help us commune and get to know each other. And then I think, well, maybe just getting there is all we need to do. If anyone would like to suggest or implement any fun events, let me know. Looking forward to a possible visit the week ahead of the Reunion with cousin Kris and Rick Heller. Is anyone else thinking of coming in advance to visit Portland? I think I hear an echo...

SUMMER IS COMING AND SO ARE WE!!!
I have been working on the cabin and lodge room assignments and I am thrilled at how many people are coming to the reunion. It should be such a great get-together. The next generation is becoming well represented. I am still waiting for volunteers to take on event jobs on this blogsite. Come up with your own idea and then make it happen. Become a follower of the blogsite and start posting your own comments on it. We all need to be communicating. Hey out there! Say something!

The Rooms AreFilling Up!
Today I mapped out the lodge and the cabins and found that it'a all filling up nicely. I am coming down to the last of the available rooms and I am thrilled that we can say that we will be full. Teri, I love the idea of a Karaoke machine, but I don't have one. Anyone out there? Of course, we could just have live music with all our talented family musicians. That's the cue to start practicing all you amateur rockers and country crooners and folk dabblers. Get your instruments out, dusted off and warmed up. A Byrne family reunion will require some singing. All voices welcome!!!

April 1st Looks Promising for 50+ at Reunion
Hi everyone in the Byrne Family group! My date to hear from people in an RSVP manner has come and gone. April 1st was when I asked to hear a commitment from as many as could make one. The numbers promising to attend and paid or planning to pay by April 15th is over the 50 mark now. I am so excited to know that we will gather with the cousins from all corners of the country soon. I would love to see people posting ideas on this blog site and signing up to organize or lead activities during the event. Let's start talking about it!!!
One idea I have heard mentioned is for the children of Bill, Harriet, Wynne, Joe and Geraldine to wear different colored t-shirts with a common logo on them to tell which strain of the family you might belong to. We also need some creative minds to invent a giant family tree-map so that everyone can find themselves in relation to everyone else that is in attendance. Some people need to start putting on their thinking caps!
I can't wait to welcome you all to the Twin Rocks Friends Camp in August! The thrill is just beginning.

Twin Rocks Here We Come!!!
Finally. I hope this blogsite will make it possible to communicate with everyone at once. I am learning the ropes of building it, so bear with me. But I hope to have it up and running soon. The Byrne Family Reunion is looking like a lot of fun. I don't want anyone to miss out on it.
